The most important wavelengths for plant growth and flowering are found at the 480nm, 450nm, 650nm, and 700nm wavelengths. Red is more important for flowering and yields, and blue produces faster growth, strong root development and improves absorption. It is also important for plants to get more 630nm-660nm wavelengths because it is reported that those wavelengths determine leaf diameter. Larger leaves will make a larger plant. Larger leaves lead to larger surface area for further absorption.

Different wavelength effect to plant's growth:
 
315 ~ 400nnm: Chlorophyll absorb less impact photo period effect, prevent stem elongation

400 ~ 520nm (blue): The proportion of chlorophyll and carotenoid absorption maximum, the greatest impact on photosynthesis
 
520 ~ 610nm: Pigment absorption rate is not high

610 ~ 720nm (red) : Chlorophyll absorption rate is low, has a significant influence on photosynthesis and photo period effect

720 ~ 1000nm: Absorption rate is low, stimulation of cell elongation, affect flowering and seed germination

> 1000nm: Converted into heat
