Research shows that global wireless network capacity reaches 65% near saturation

On July 20th, Beijing time, according to foreign media reports, a survey from Credit Suisse, an investment bank, showed that the mobile network capacity in North America has reached 80%, and 36% of the base stations are facing capacity bottlenecks. In other countries or regions, the mobile network capacity has also exceeded 50%, and the global average is 65%. The survey involves multiple operators worldwide, and the rapid development of mobile networks will prompt service providers to purchase more network equipment. Overall, operators expect wireless network usage to reach 70% within one year.

Credit Suisse, based on the results of the survey, predicts that there will be a new sales boom in the cellular equipment market, involving Ericsson, Lucent, Nokia Siemens, Huawei and other technology vendors.

The North American network has reached 72% usage two years ago. Operators in the region expect that by using more equipment, the network utilization rate will return to 72% in two years, and the current usage rate has reached 80%. .

The situation in the Asian region is relatively optimistic. The usage rate was 54% two years ago and 62% this year. However, the network in Western Europe dropped from 66% to 56%. Latin American mobile networks will reach 85% usage this year.

Data services are the source of significant growth in network usage. It is estimated that the revenue of the data business will increase by 11.7% this year, while the revenue from voice business will decrease by 4.4%, and the short message service revenue will drop by 3.3%. Last year, the average data revenue per user increased by 25.6%.
