Elmos of Germany has announced the expansion of its KNX/ EIB transceiver series, which is simple and flexible, and is designed for use in smart home KNX systems. Depending on the actual product requirements, all devices in the family can be used as bit-transceivers for the KNX bus in analog mode. The E981.03 and E981.23 series have a baud rate of up to 115k and are compatible with the TP-UART compatible protocol. E981.33 is only used as a bit transceiver. For the E981.03, it also has SPI configuration and diagnostics. All series are integrated with DC/DC switching power supply capability to provide 5 or 3.3V external voltage. In addition, the series also features a 20V/25mA linear regulator.
E981.03 KNX/ EIB transceiver as the main controller interface with TP-UART compatible interface and SPI compatible interface. The DC/DC controller can supply up to 70mA, which allows the product to be used in the complex KNX smart home sector.
Unlike the E981.03, the E981.23 chip does not provide an SPI interface. However, important parameters can be configured through other pins. For example, the maximum current output on the bus and its maximum rate of rise can be configured via pins. The reference clock frequency can also be changed to 8 MHz or 7.3728 MHz. The chip's own DC/DC switching power supply can deliver up to 100mA.
E981.33 is a cost-effective version developed. This bit transceiver can be used in analog mode. Otherwise, it has the same configuration options as E981.23. The DC/DC controller can output currents up to 100mA.
All products in this series have built-in temperature sensors and over temperature protection. Operating temperature is -25 ° C to +85 ° C. The entire device family is available in the QFN32L7 package.
