According to Liaw Tsung-Jen, chairman of Bright LED EL ectronics, in 2010, LED backlighting is expected to account for 30-40% of its total revenue, up from 18% in 2009.
Liaw Tsung-Jen also said that in 2010 the company's lighting business will account for 5-10% of the company's total revenue.

Liaw Tsung-Jen also said that the capacity of SMD LED packaging will expand from the current 3 billion to 3.5-400 million per month.
In 2010, the target of Suihong LED street lamp shipments was as high as 100,000 baht, which was higher than the 10,000 baht in 2009. The company has had business negotiations with Guangdong, Hunan and Henan provinces on the supply of LED street lamps.
Liaw Tsung-Jen pointed out that although the LED lighting market is growing slowly compared to the LED backlight market, the LED lighting replacement lamp market is expected to grow rapidly in the next three years as some governments have banned the use of incandescent lamps. Liaw Tsung-Jen pointed out that lighting will be the market with the greatest potential for future LED industry development.
