Chinese foreign trade companies take the "China Fair" to stabilize exports

The 22nd East China Import and Export Commodity Fair (the “China Fair”), known as the “New Year's First Exhibition,” opened here on the 1st. Nearly 3,500 participating Chinese foreign trade companies faced a rather severe international market. Started a new journey in 2012 to catch deals and stabilize exports.

Without the opening ceremony, the four professional exhibition areas such as clothing, home textiles, decoration gifts and daily consumer goods established by the “China Fair” will be opened directly.

The exhibition area of ​​115,000 square meters of this year's “China Fair” has increased by more than 10% compared with last year, and the increase in scale indicates that Chinese foreign trade enterprises attach great importance to the “New Year’s First Exhibition” under the situation of low exports. Huang Yonglu, head of the Anhui Trading Group, told Xinhua News Agency that more than a quarter of the 266 exhibiting companies in the company were exhibitors for the first time. More than 10% of the companies selected novel and unique booth decorations to attract overseas merchants. , increase export orders. As an important manufacturing base in East China, Ningbo Trading Group “ordered” 483 booths this year, an increase of 10% from last year.

According to the organizer of the China Fair, in order to encourage exhibitors to increase their efforts in research and development of new products and upgrade and improve the grade and structure of China's export commodities, this year's "China Fair" will be the first to carry out awards.

While grasping export transactions early, this year's China Fair has also set up “channels” for imports: overseas companies exhibited from Japan, South Korea, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, Colombia, Mozambique and Hong Kong and Taiwan. 134 companies participated in the exhibition.

According to customs statistics, in January of this year, due to sluggish growth in major economies such as the United States, Europe and Japan, declining demand, and the deceleration of the domestic economy, total import and export of Chinese goods fell by 7.8% compared with the same period of last year. Both import and export growth showed negative growth.

Taking Shanghai Port, which serves mainly eastern China as an example, the cargo throughput of the port in January was 58.216 million tons, down 4.7% year-on-year; the total volume of import and export goods was 79 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%.

The China Fair is jointly organized by Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, and Nanjing and Ningbo. Since 1991, it has been held every year in Shanghai in the early spring. It is the largest regional trade show in China.
