ARM President: The PC market has not yet been dead but has been frozen

"The PC market is not dead, but it is relatively rigid and there is no major change. Intel has made great efforts to convince the market and investors that PCs have a promising future, but we do not think so." ARM Global President Dude Brown Recently told the "First Financial Daily".

Up to now, Intel has still not really out of the PC market. The global close to 100% of smartphones and tablet PCs and processor technology come from ARM. ARM's technology has even entered the server, notebook and smart TV now stir. This year's revenue of about 600 million US dollars of British companies, is Intel's thorn.

Now Intel has found a new strategy, launched Ultrabook thin and light notebook concept, both common Internet and tablet features. Intel plans to upgrade 40% of global consumer notebooks to Ultrabook before the end of 2012, and now it is advocating the promotion of Lenovo, Acer, Dell and other giants.

This move has attracted ARM's ridicule. Dodd Brown told the newspaper that Intel’s technology has indeed improved over the past few years, but processor power consumption has not changed fundamentally so far and it has changed. Ultimately, it is the PC concept.

Intel’s know-how is one of the reasons it’s parting ways with hardcore partner Microsoft. When Gooogle led the smart phone and tablet computer with the help of Android, Microsoft began to secretly join hands with ARM. Last year it bought ARM processor technology and urgently developed and supported the latter system.

The day before yesterday, Microsoft demonstrated Windows 8 externally and announced support for both Intel and ARM. This is seen as a sign of further disintegration of the wintel alliance. If Intel is unable to upgrade its technology or speed up its industrial alliance as soon as possible, it may miss out on a new round of mobile Internet growth opportunities.

Intel apparently knows that it can't stop Microsoft from embracing ARM. It seems to have been prepared for it. Earlier, it had worked together with Nokia to develop the MeGoo operating system, but its poor promotion has now become a chicken.
