The increasing development of mobile technology has changed the way people interact with people and the world. The relentless pursuit of a good user experience also drives automakers' architectural design of infotainment systems to adapt to technological trends and maintain strong competitiveness. The diversity of interactive technologies distracts the driver's attention. To solve this problem, automakers are investing more in the system security of infotainment platforms. The balance between infotainment and ADAS systems is the biggest challenge facing the automotive ecosystem today.

To meet the security requirements of infotainment systems, NVIDIA has developed sophisticated automotive system-on-a-chip (SoC) systems with a unique parallel processing architecture that delivers powerful computing power for a wide range of functions. Maxim's technical advantages in the automotive field and its extensive product line make it possible to solve three major IC-related problems that cannot be ignored in system-level design: heat generation, size and efficiency.

technology

Maxim provides software-compatible, low quiescent current, high integration, automotive-grade power management circuitry for NVIDIA's Visual Computing Module (VCM). This power solution meets the performance requirements of the DRIVE CX and PX platforms. The NVIDIA VCM modular platform provides automotive manufacturers with a fast, portable path to integrate the latest automotive-grade Tegra® processors in their vehicles.

Maxim's Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) solution provides high-speed data transfer between the camera input and the NVIDIA SoC, or a single board to provide an additional link between the main unit of the infotainment platform and the display.

· The MAX9286, a four-channel, 1.5Gbps deserializer from the Maxim GMSL family, is the first solution on the market to synchronize video streams from four-way cameras, powering each camera simultaneously over a single coaxial cable. The above “performance integration” and “coaxial cable power” functions are applied in the NVIDIA DRIVE PX platform, which simplifies the design of ADAS systems with multiple (12-channel) camera inputs.

Evaluation

· Maxim Integrated Kent Robinett, Director of Automotive Solutions Sales and Marketing, said: "Maxim has built the high-performance analog ecosystem needed to drive the NVIDIA supercomputer platform, and the two companies have worked together to bring new features to automotive infotainment and ADAS systems. Provides a platform to support automotive-grade USB, power management, high-speed video transmission, high-precision MEMS, and wireless-tuned RF-to-Bits® solutions."

· Ross Jatou, vice president of automotive hardware engineering at NVIDIA, said: "Maxim's innovative simulation solutions bring many unique features to future cars."
