What is the glare index?

The glare index is an indicator for predicting and assessing the uncomfortable glare condition of the indoor work environment. The international general glare index CGI recommended by the International Commission on Illumination Committee on Discomfort Glare Technical Committee (TC-3.4), as a measure of uncomfortable glare, is equivalent to the UK's discomfort glare index BGI.
