At the beginning of the evening, the colorful lights will make today's Luoyang City look beautiful.

Street lights are the eyes of a city. Every morning, it illuminates the road of the early risers to work hard; after the sun sets, it accompanied the people who worked for a day to the harbor of the home. The road of Luoyang urban lighting development for 30 years not only illuminates the night sky of the ancient capital, but also warms the hearts of urban residents.

Colorful lights shining through the night sky

According to the data, in 1920, Luoyang Linzhao Electric Light Company built a small power plant and installed more than 10 street lamps on the street. The city lighting work in Luoyang has been delayed. Before 1979, the street lights were less than 2,500 miles.

From 1979 to 1980, the city invested 270,000 yuan in financial resources, and built 30 new roads with lights, and the street lamps broke through 3,000. Urban lighting began to enter a period of rapid development. At the end of 1996, the city installed a total of 11012 miles of street lamps, breaking through 10,000 miles.

Since the beginning of the new century, with the development of the national economy of our city, urban lighting has entered a leap-forward development stage. Xiao Yuluo, deputy director of the Municipal Public Utilities Bureau and director of the Municipal Urban Lighting and Lighting Management Division, said.

Since 2001, the city has begun to implement the Green Bright and Clean Project, which has invested huge sums of money every year to comprehensively transform the lighting facilities in the city.

In order to cooperate with the development and construction of Luoyang New Area, since the beginning of 2003, the city has added thousands of new street lamps every year. The number of street lamps in the new area has rapidly reached 18,000 baht, which is close to the number accumulated in the old town of Luohe in the past decades.

By the end of 2005, the urban area had successively reconstructed 225 roads, and 95% of the city's street lamps were converted into high-performance sodium lamps with stable performance and good illumination; more than 90% of the lighting lines were put into the ground, and the cement poles were basically eliminated. Instead, they were plated. Zinc steel pipe.

Thirty years ago, Luoyang’s streetlights were incandescent, slightly yellow, and a simple cover outside, which was aptly called a pot lamp, because the cover could be taken home and used as a steaming pot lid.

Nowadays, the pot lamp has already withdrawn from the historical stage. The city lighting has achieved one street and one scene, and the new types of street lamps with green energy saving and high-tech content are spreading.

In July 2006, the first batch of solar street lamps settled in the New District Sports Center. Within one year, it installed more than 137 bases and became the largest solar lighting demonstration area in Henan Province. In April of this year, the renovation of the street lights of Jiudu Road was completed. The replacement 1217 street lamps were all new energy-saving sodium lamps and LVD electromagnetic induction energy-saving lamps, which realized the extension from point to line and then expanded to the surface. It is the largest green lighting project in our province. .

Thirty years ago, the opening of street lights was controlled manually. Since 1995, the city has tried the automatic monitoring technology of street lamps, and gradually started on the roads such as Jiudu West Road and Chundu Road. In May 2002, the city street lamp automation monitoring center was completed and put into use, and the street lamp control took the lead in realizing the microcomputer automatic control in Henan.

In June 1994, the Xiguan Ding Lianghua project was completed. This is the beginning of the city's urban sculpture and main building lighting.

In January 2006, the city's lighting project was launched. Over a year, 112 large-scale public facilities, nearly 800 high-rise buildings, and 4,726 commercial stores have successfully implemented lighting, with the Luohe River as the center, the two sides of the Luohe River reflecting each other, the city's main squares and roads with distinctive urban night scenes. The system was formally formed.

The colorful lights not only illuminate the night sky of Luoyang, but also make this ancient city show new brilliance.
