High-speed T-frame gantry EXCT

30% faster than traditional grippers: This is Festo's high-speed T-gantry. The dynamic response of the gantry is comparable to that of a system with a linear motor, but the cost is equivalent to the solution of the toothed belt type electric cylinder, and it is very suitable for quick packing of products. Of course, there are solutions for the stacking process, including control cabinets and programming.

High-speed T-gantry can easily achieve 670 milliseconds of packaging cycle time. Compared with the traditional linear gantry, it has better dynamic response and can be adjusted to various strokes. As a result, it can easily keep up with the highly dynamic production processes of today's and tomorrow's packaging machines.

The gantry has a running speed of 5 m/s and an acceleration of 50 m/s2 covering the entire work area. The gantry is driven by two EMMS-AS or EMME-AS servomotors. Another advantage of this gantry is that it has two degrees of freedom and no motor is required for movement in the Y/Z axis plane.

The weight of the gantry is reduced, and the configuration of two servo motors installed in parallel can achieve fast and dynamic movements, thereby reducing wear. The control solution CMCA provides users with a solution that can be matched with specific applications and can be installed, and can freely select three-dimensional path control when using a highly dynamic motion mechanism.

Stacking solution

Festo's custom-designed systems include a matching gripper with claws, a control cabinet and programming services. The standard components that make up the system are the electric cylinders EGC, EGC-HD and DGEA, the motors EMMS-AS or EMME-AS, a controller CMMP and a robot controller CMXR. In addition, these solutions also include a security system CMGA and human-machine interface CDPX.

The ready-to-install grabbing system, such as the grabbing system for stacking tasks, frees the user from almost all the complicated work processes associated with developing and assembling these systems. Users only need to communicate with Festo's engineering consultants and describe their application tasks. The consultant then works with other Festo experts to complete the planning, design, ordering, documentation, assembly, and testing, and delivers a complete solution directly to the user's factory, including documentation and an applicable custom control cabinet. The control cabinet protects all pneumatic, electrical and electronic components of the plant. The design and manufacture of control cabinets are tailored to specific applications, and the needs of specific industries have also been taken into account.

Compared with six-axis robots, what are the advantages of gripping solutions? They are easily integrated into existing control systems and integrated into the drive technology of the entire production line. No additional control system required. This reduces programming and maintenance costs.

Robot controller

The gripping system is ideally suited for rapid transfer, positioning and dynamic gripping in the packaging production process. Based on the Festo robot controller CMXR, a complete movement is formed by combining mechanical components, electric drive technology and control technology. System solutions can coordinate highly dynamic movements in three-dimensional space. The robot controller CMXR can interpolate and position the axis motion so that each axis can achieve a contour path relative to the centerline. The controller can set the path switching point so that the process device can be accurately activated.

The CMXR is a technical "conductor": the upper control system is connected upwards and the motor controller and valve terminal of the servo shaft are connected downwards. It also facilitates the integration of image processing systems such as Festo's intelligent vision system SBO..-Q. The vision system can also be used with a suitable delivery system to enable the application of mobile articles.
