Plasma TV structure and imaging principle

The liquid crystal is irradiated with light, and the liquid crystal molecules are rotated by the voltage, so that the light passes through the liquid crystal molecules to generate different brightness intensities. Finally, the color of the picture is determined by the color wheel of the light sheet, and finally the image is obtained. However, the LCD panel itself does not illuminate and is illuminated by a backlight inside the TV.

The principle of plasma TV and liquid crystal imaging is completely different. The liquid crystal illuminates the picture with a large backlight, while the plasma emits light for each pixel. Some people say that the plasma screen is full of plasma squirts, each pixel is a gun that can be brightened. But in fact, each pixel in the plasma screen is composed of three glass chambers, and so on, through a large number of glass chambers to form a flat panel.

In each of the glass chambers, an inert gas is contained, and one pixel is composed of three gas chambers, and then three gas chambers of the pixel are respectively coated with a red phosphor, a green phosphor, and a blue phosphor. Then, each of the gas chambers is discharged by the electrode wires under the control of the driving circuit, and the discharge in the inert gas in the gas chamber causes the ions to emit ultraviolet rays, which in turn excite the phosphors to emit light, which achieves plasma imaging.

The development of plasma TV

In the past, a large number of mainstream TV sets were manufactured by the same technology, namely cathode ray tubes (CRTs). The CRT is mainly composed of an electron gun, a deflection yoke, and a cathode ray tube. Since the cathode ray tube is made of glass, it is very fragile and the screen has an imperceptible jitter, but its Achilles heel is not the above, but its oversized volume. One rule of CRT technology is that the larger the screen area, the longer the picture tube will be. Only in this way can the scanning electron gun have enough depth to drive the electron beam to the entire screen.

The new PDP TV began to seize the market and became the spokesperson of fashion TV. The new TV has a display that is as large as a TV based on CRT technology, but it is only about 10 cm thick. The formation of PDP images depends mainly on the brightness produced by high-energy electron beams hitting millions of dots on the screen (we call them “pixels”). All colors can be mixed in a suitable ratio by the selected three monochromatic lights, and most of the colored light can be decomposed into specific three monochromatic lights. Any one of the primary colors cannot be obtained by mixing the other two primary colors, but they are mixed with each other in different ratios to obtain different other colors.
