Foton Motor Shandong New Energy Base operates

At the beginning of 2015, Foton Motors Shandong New Energy Base was unveiled, while the 10,000th Futian Ouhui New Energy Bus rolled off the assembly line, delivering an environmental protection gift for the New Year. As a leader in domestic new energy vehicles, Foton Motor sold more than 20,000 new energy vehicles in 2014, reaching a new level.

Foton Motors Group Shandong New Energy Base is an important strategic base of Foton Motor Group, mainly building Shandong Shandong Multifunctional Automobile Factory, Foton Auto Mould Company, Zhucheng Automobile Factory, Zhucheng Ao Ling Automobile Factory, Futian Shandong (Weifang) Research Institute LVC6060 light truck project. Among them, the Ouhui Bus Shandong New Energy Base Project is planned to invest 1.5 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 vehicles. It will mainly produce new energy buses, new energy group vehicles and school buses, and the annual sales revenue is expected to reach 7 billion yuan.

Through the operation of the new energy base, Foton Shandong Base will form a production capacity of 600,000 vehicles, and will form an internationally competitive capacity to develop and manufacture high-end light commercial vehicles, utility vehicles and new energy vehicles, becoming Shandong Province and Nationally important new energy automobile production base. Together with the Futian (Shandong) Research Institute, which has already been under planning and construction, Foton Motor will transform from a single manufacturing base to a scientific and technological innovation base integrating R&D and manufacturing by adjusting the industrial structure and accelerating industrial upgrading.

The relevant person in charge of Foton Motor said in an interview with a reporter from Beijing Commercial Daily that the unveiling of the new energy base in Shandong was not accidental. In fact, as early as 2003, Futian started to plan a new energy strategy. At present, Foton has become the largest domestic manufacturer of new energy vehicles. In the future, new energy vehicles will become the core strategic business of Foton Motor. By 2020, new energy vehicles will account for 25%-30% of Foton Motor's total sales. Futian Shandong New Energy Base is an important step leading to this goal.

Zhao Jingguang, spokesperson for Foton Motors and spokesman of the Party Committee, said: “Futian New Energy Base in Shandong is an important part of Futian's industrial layout in Shandong. It will not only become one of the important new energy automobile production bases of Foton Motor, but will also further accelerate the strategy. The transformation will accelerate the strategic development of Foton Motor's 'going out' strategy."

In order to help Shandong achieve zero emissions and zero pollution in the public transportation sector, improve the atmosphere and improve air quality, Futian Shandong New Energy Base has many new highlights. To solve the battery bottleneck, Foton's new energy battery company has been established. In addition, the Futian (Shandong) Research Institute established in Weifang will also focus on new energy issues. As the country with the largest number of new energy passenger bus operations in China, the construction of Futian New Energy Automobile Base will help the further promotion of Shandong's new energy bus.

This year, Foton Motors has signed procurement contracts with Beijing Public Transport Group for more than 3,000 LNG buses and 700 pure electric buses. While Foton Motors and Beijing Transit jointly contributed to the "APEC Blue", it also accumulated valuable experience in the scale operation of new energy buses. These experiences will help Futian Ouhui New Energy Bus Service to serve bus companies in Shandong.

Futian Automobile, which is driven by innovation, will apply its latest innovations to its base in Futian, Shandong. Since its inception, Foton Motor has invested more than 30 billion yuan in R&D capacity building to achieve technological innovation. As a state-level enterprise technology center, there are currently more than 4,000 R&D personnel in the Foton Automotive Engineering Research Institute. In addition to the Beijing Research Institute and the Futian (Shandong) Research Institute, there are more than ten R&D and design centers in the country, and in Japan, Germany and India, Brazil and other places also have research and development branches. Through globalization, it is expected that 2020 Foton Motor will have more than 8,000 global R&D personnel and more than 400 technicians with international leading skills.
