India's JSPL plans to build 6 million tons of steel mills at the end of the year


India's Jingdele Steel and Energy Company (JSPL) said that the planned annual production capacity of 6 million tons of steel mills in Jharkhand State of India will begin at the end of this year. The company plans to invest $6.1 billion, including the construction of an integrated steel plant and two power plants (power 2,500 MW). The integrated steel mill also includes a 600-tonne sinter plant, an annual capacity of 3 million tons of hot-rolling mills, an annual production capacity of 3 million tons of wire, steel and structural steel production lines, and a coke oven with an annual capacity of 3 million tons. The plant is expected to go into production in 2011.

In addition, JSPL plans to build an annual production capacity of 6 million tons of steel mills in Orissa. The first phase will be put into operation in 2009 with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons.
