After the lock screen password expires and restarts, what should I do if the mobile phone interface shows that the iPhone is disabled?

Sometimes, our small partners take the company’s test devices home. Yesterday, one of the company's 8P devices suddenly malfunctioned. After entering the lock screen password, it kept showing an error, and all previously recorded fingerprints were no longer working. At that moment, we all helped the person troubleshoot and quickly reached out to a colleague on WeChat. I was a bit embarrassed at the time and asked, “Are you sure you entered the wrong password?” She replied, “No, it worked fine this morning. The company’s test device has a password, and I can’t remember it now. Can you remind me for five minutes?” She had already tried again after an hour. After checking the situation, the sister realized that many of the small partners' iPhones were experiencing the same issue—both the lock screen password and fingerprint unlocking failed. From what she saw online, the only solution was to "brick" the device. Today, when the sister came to the office, she called Apple’s official support to explain the problem. The customer service representative told her that the only way to resolve it was through iTunes. There was no other option. The sister then met with Apple Certified Maintenance Engineer Wang Jinwei, who explained the cause. He said that the password failure was mainly due to system vulnerabilities, similar to the iOS 11 “chrysanthemum” incident. It wasn't limited to a specific model—it could affect any compatible device. The only solution was to use iTunes to restore the device. However, when the sister connected the 8P to iTunes, it couldn’t detect the device. That meant she had to force the iPhone into recovery mode and then flash it. Here’s how to enter recovery mode: - For models below 7/7P: Press and hold the power button and the Home button until the white Apple logo appears. - For iPhone 7 and 7P: Press and hold the power button and the volume down button until the white Apple logo appears. - For iPhone 8, 8P, or X: Quickly press the volume up, release it; then quickly press the volume down, release it. Long press the power button until the white Apple logo appears. To perform the restoration: Make sure your iTunes is updated to the latest version. Open iTunes and check for updates under the Help menu. If it prompts you to update, do so. Once updated, connect your iPhone to iTunes. The interface will ask if you want to update or restore the device. Click "Restore." Then, follow the prompts, agree to the terms, and wait about 30 minutes. During this time, the device will go into recovery mode and download the necessary firmware. Once done, an activation lock will appear. Enter your Apple ID and password to continue. When the iPhone shows the "Hello" screen, it means the process was successful. Unplug the cable and reset the device. You’ll need to set up the lock screen password again. But be warned—if you don’t turn off your iPhone before flashing, and if you forget your Apple ID or password, the device won’t activate. Also, remember that restoring your iPhone will erase all data. So, always back up important files to your computer in advance. In case of emergencies, nothing can be done if you’re unprepared. What do you think? Have you ever faced a similar issue?
