Canadian company determines solar LED lighting market strategy

Canada's Carmanah Technologies Corp. has signed a definitive agreement with TempleInc., located in Decatur, Alabama, where they have purchased inventory and other assets from the illuminated signpost business from Carmanah.

Under the terms of the agreement, Temple will purchase Carmanah's roadmap business, including a list of products, relevant marketing materials, and a list of customers and suppliers.

In order to ensure the effective implementation of the materials and handover process, Carmanah will assist in its production and sales during the 90-day transition period.

TedLattimore, CEO of Carmanah, said the agreement would allow Carmanah to target its solar and solar LED lighting markets.

As an alternative to traditional streetlights and traffic lights with LEDs, Carmanah's edge-lit design uses a simplified installation that is improved over traditional fluorescent lamps due to its visibility, reliability, durability and energy savings. It also reduces maintenance costs.

LED marine navigation light with automatic identification system

In addition, the company has partnered with ShineMicro to add an Automatic Identification System (AIS) to Carmanah's solar LED marine navigation lights.

AIS can be widely applied to ship and ship traffic services (VTS) to identify and locate ships. AIS technology allows ships to automatically exchange a range of navigation data, including position, heading, speed, other vessels not far away, and ship transportation service stations. And AIS equipment navigation buoys.

Carmanah's LED marine beacons are available for Coast Guard, Port and Seaport authorities, including New York Harbor, London Harbour, Suez Canal and Sydney Harbour.
