8-LED light fixtures were installed on January 27, 2007 to replace 8-400 watt Metal Halide fixtures. A watt hour meter was installed to track the usage.
One meter was installed to track 4-400 watt metal halide bulbs on the gas canopy and the other meter was installed to track the usage of the four LED fixtures.
After 10 months, the results were as follows:
4-400 Watt Metal Halides
6610 KWH (6610 x .12 = US $793.20)
Elecrical rates are calculated on a national average of .12 per KWH
4-LED Fixtures
832 KWH ( 832 x .12 = US $99.84)
Each 400 Watt Metal Halide cost US $19.83 per month to operate.
64 Fixtures cost US$1269.12 per month or $15, 229.44 per year.
Installation of 64 LED's is US $36,800 based on the above fixtures.
The system would pay for itself in 2.7 years. With a 100% usable life span of 11.6 years. The system would generate $118, 454.01 in Revenue.
