Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) expands its digital video signal channel solution by introducing the MAX9530 4-channel analog-to-digital conversion front end, which converts analog video and audio signals into digital formats required for compression processing. The on-chip integrated memory controller supports multiple output formats, including: the optimal format for direct connection to Maxim H.264 processor series products. The device does not require expensive FPGA or interface logic circuits common in competitive solutions.
When used in conjunction with Maxim's MG3500 H.264 video processor, the MAX9530 can provide the excellent system video quality required for compression processing, and can reduce the BOM cost per channel by more than $ 1.
