The Beijing Green Lighting Project began with the replacement of energy-saving lamps from more than 50 government agencies. From November 2004 to August 2005, nearly 240,000 high-efficiency lighting products and 98 lighting power savers were installed. Seeing good energy-saving effects, the layout of energy-saving lamps in Beijing began to expand. After using green lighting, the energy saving effect is obvious. Beijing Parkson Shopping Mall, the former outdoor lighting contour lamp is a 15 watt incandescent lamp, the brightness is not enough, the replacement amount is large, and about 100 pieces are replaced every week. When the energy-saving lamp is replaced, the brightness is increased and the frequency of replacement is greatly reduced. The total purchase price of the original products used by the People's Liberation Army General Hospital for lighting products was 470,000 yuan. After participating in the Beijing Green Lighting Project, the total purchase price of light sources was reduced to 220,000 yuan, saving costs.
According to energy-saving monitoring, 1.8 million ç› energy-saving lamps can save 39 million kWh of electricity a year, saving electricity costs by 28 million yuan; reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 38,700 tons, sulfur dioxide by 1,164 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 1,700 tons.
Zhang Yanyou, a member of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, said that the green lighting project is a successful example of a government-led, market-based operation model. Through the demonstration and promotion of this project, the government invested a small amount of capital to drive the enthusiasm of suppliers, supplying at a price lower than 20% of the market, expanding the sales of high-efficiency lighting sources, reducing costs and driving the development of energy-saving industries. .
