Foshan Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University also cooperated with China Nuclear New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. Signed a framework cooperation agreement for the cooperative development of the semiconductor lighting industry.

However, the lighting electrical industry in Foshan also faces serious challenges from domestic and foreign companies and Hong Kong and Taiwan enterprises under the new situation. The development of the semiconductor lighting industry provides a good development opportunity for Foshan traditional lighting to achieve leapfrog development.

Li Weiwei said that these advanced lighting technologies will be applied to the pillar industries such as auto parts, lighting fixtures and flat panel display backlights that are already available in Nanhai and Foshan.

Wang Ling said that the new LED lighting technology launched by the Foshan Research Institute of Zhongda University is a world-recognized high-efficiency, mercury-free and energy-saving green light source. It will gradually replace traditional lighting in the next few years, becoming an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly, lighting industry. The upgraded mainstream technology and industry, Foshan City and the Nanhai District People's Government have listed LED as an important pillar industry of the regional economy.

The Foshan Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University is a public institution established by Sun Yat-sen University and the Foshan Municipal Government. It is committed to building a public service platform for semiconductor lighting in Foshan and even in southern China. At present, there are 8 professors, 7 doctors and 22 professional engineers. The semiconductor lighting industry in the Foshan area and the Pearl River Delta region, centered on the South China Sea region, is relatively developed. There are related production companies in various segments such as epitaxial wafers, chips and even packaging, and the industrial chain is perfect. Wang Gang, dean of the Foshan Research Institute of Zhongda University, said.

The returnee semiconductor expert said that the Foshan government has incorporated the semiconductor lighting industry into a high-tech industry with key development, and set up a special fund for semiconductor lighting to build a semiconductor lighting industrialization technology research and development platform in Foshan, not only to promote the leapfrogging of Foshan traditional lighting industry. It is of strategic importance to develop and achieve energy conservation and consumption reduction goals.

It is also reported that CNNC New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. has decided to cooperate fully with the Foshan Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University and the People's Government of Nanhai District in investing in the construction of Nanhai Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Industrial Park, the establishment of semiconductor lighting testing center, and the development of semiconductor lighting energy-saving services and operations.
