Dumbbell Sampler
ZSY-28 Type
One,
Dumbbell Sampler
Application Scope
This device is designed to prepare dumbbell-shaped specimens from non-metallic materials for tensile testing. It offers high efficiency in sample preparation, ensuring accurate dimensions and featuring a cutting debris absorption system. The machine meets the requirements for I, II, and III type dumbbell specimens as specified in GB/T 1040 "Plastic Tensile Performance Test Method," GB 8802 "Vicat Softening Point Temperature Measurement Method for Hard Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-U) Pipe and Tube," and other relevant standards.

User Manual
1. Prepare a blank sample with the following dimensions:
Type I sample: total length 150±1.0, width ≥22
Type II sample: total length 115±1.0, width ≥27
(User-owned)
Vicat sample: total length ≤50 ±1.0, width 10 + 0.5
(User-owned)
Long strip sample: total length ≤250±1.0, width = required size + processing volume greater than 2mm
2. Loading the Sample Blanks
For Type I, II, and long strip blanks, clamp them directly into the corresponding fixtures. Ensure the clamping force is not too strong to avoid deformation of the specimen. The clamped surface should be as symmetrical as possible to ensure uniform processing.
The Vicat sample blank should be loaded as follows:
When the pipe wall thickness is >6mm and ≤8mm, clamp as shown in Figure 1.
If the wall thickness is >8mm, clamp as shown in Figure 2. At this point, the protruding part of the sample should be less than 5mm. After clamping, loosen the fixture and push the sample in the direction of the arrow by less than 5mm. Re-clamp and continue processing until the wall thickness is less than 8mm, then clamp as shown in Figure 1 for the final processing.
The resulting wall thickness after this method is 4 mm.
3. Sample Processing
3.1 Turn on the power and set the switch to start the tool shaft. When viewed from above, the tool axis should rotate counterclockwise. Also check that the tool is installed correctly, with the blade direction matching the rotation direction.
3.2 For processing Type I and II samples, close the clamp of the blank toward the tool direction and use a manual feeding method. Ensure the clamp is close to the outer circumference of the positioning bearing above and below the tool. After one side is processed, rotate the jig 180° and process the other side to complete the task.
3.3 Processing of Vicat samples is similar, but the fixture does not need to be rotated 180° during processing; it can be completed on one side only.
3.4 For long strip samples, first loosen the fastening screws, adjust the position of the positioning plate left and right, and set the L value based on the width of the sample being processed.
L = 1/2 sample width + 9
Once the dimension L is adjusted, secure the positioning plate and proceed with processing. During processing, the fixture should be tightly attached to the positioning plate and fed into the tool. After processing, rotate the fixture 180° to complete the other side. For short specimens, to prevent deformation, multiple specimens can be processed together or a sheet of the same thickness can be clamped alongside the specimen in the available space.
