As the official lighting sponsor of the “Digital Dimensions” exhibition—the opening show of the main hall at the Sea World Art and Culture Center—Philips used its PCK series products to create a visually captivating and interactive lighting environment that blends technology and design seamlessly. The “Digital Dimensions” exhibition features 60 works from renowned designers and artists across the globe, inviting visitors on a journey of discovery. It explores how design shapes our lives and how technology and human values intersect. The system’s dynamic color performance and advanced control features helped restore the original intent of the artists, creating an immersive and interactive experience that brought lighting and design to life, setting a new standard for Chinese lighting design. In addition to the visual spectacle, the exhibition featured interactive installations such as “Light Night,” a device designed by Stickyline that uses city light pollution data to create ambient lighting using Philips ColorBurst IntelliHue Powercore floodlights and flexible strips. This installation sparked cultural dialogue among visitors. The Philips Show smart floor and table lamps also gave guests a glimpse into the future of smart home living. As part of the “Digital Dimensions” theme, the exhibition emphasized the role of digital design in driving innovation, improving communication, and building stronger communities. Visitors explored themes like “digital encounters,” “digital interactions,” and “digital participation,” gaining insight into how digital design is shaping the world around us. On December 2, 2017, during the first day of the “International Creative Practice” forum, Li Kunhong, Asia-Pacific Design Director at the Philips Lighting Design Center, delivered a speech titled “Light, Beyond What You See – The Cultural Shaping of Light.” He discussed how lighting can go beyond aesthetics and serve as a powerful tool for connecting people, design, and society.
