OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is proud to introduce the OSLON MX ECE to further expand its lineup of LED products in the automotive lighting sector, covering automotive taillights, brake lights and daytime running lights. The low-cost, high-power ceramic component introduced this time is designed for the headlights of mid-range cars and is mainly used as a daytime running light. The birth of this new LED is an important complement to the entire line of OSRAM automotive lighting.
The OSLON MX ECE is a high-power ceramic component that is positioned between the Advanced Power TopLED and the Golden DRAGON LED, filling the market gap both in terms of performance and price. This time, the introduction of energy-saving LEDs with new packaging technology is an initiative of OSRAM in response to the growing popularity of daytime driving lights in the automotive market beyond luxury and high-end markets. Peter Knittl, Head of Automotive Lighting LED Marketing at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Germany, said: "Like all of our automotive lighting LEDs, OSLON MX ECE and its lower-powered sister product, OSLON SX ECE, fit the needs of the automotive lighting industry. These ceramic components are ideal for daytime running light applications, can be incorporated into the headlight system, or integrated into the fender for use as a stand-alone light source."
With an area of ​​only 3 x 3 mm2, the OSLON MX ECE is a 1 W component made with the latest chip technology with a light output between 70 lm and 95 lm and can operate up to 150 °C. Manufacturers who require a 0.5 W solution can choose OSLON SX ECE. The SX version is the same size and thermal stability as the MX version, with a light output between 40 lm and 60 lm. Due to their small size, both LEDs can be integrated into a small, thin design.
In addition to these ceramic components, the LED portfolio that perfectly matches the automotive sector includes light sources of various versions and performance levels that meet the needs of different customers, from Advanced Power TopLEDs for daytime running lights to for high beam and low beam. The OSTAR Headlamp for the headlights is fully available and covers a range of brightness from 25 to 1000 lm.
