Original Innovator Dafa Call - SONY MDR-Z1000 Headphone Test

During the student's time, if anyone had a SONY WALKMAN series Walkman, it would certainly attract the onlookers. But at that time, relative to AIWA, Panasonic and other brands, WALKMAN was more expensive, and I could only touch my Panasonic Walkman to drool with his partner's WALKMAN. Since then, SONY Dafa has had a different feeling in my heart. When I grew up, I would always take a look at SONY's products of the same kind when purchasing electronic products.

SONY has always had a good reputation in terms of headphones, such as the R10 earphone, which is known as the king of moving circles, and E888 earplugs using biological membranes. In October 2010, SONY announced the flagship moving coil earbud EX1000 and headphone Z1000 using liquid crystal diaphragm. After listening to the EX1000 for some time, I was impressed with the high resolution and delicate high frequency of the LCD diaphragm. In 2014, Sony released a new head-mounted flagship headset, the Z7. The previous-generation flagship headset, the Z1000, is still on sale and prices have been lowered. Taking advantage of Jingdong 6.18 to do activities and good feeling for SONY liquid crystal diaphragm, I decided to try a Z1000.

From the outside, the headphone package is relatively large (3020300px in size) and the color is SONY's custom black. Coupled with a golden font, it is concise but no loser. In accordance with the SONY image established by Dahe Dianxiong: the product is heavy and tasteful, and the matt black part combination and color of the metal is also the Japanese company's consistent minimalist design style.

Open the box, inside the accessories are a headset body, a leather carrying case, a 3m line, a 1.5m line, a 3.5mm to 6.25mm adapter plug. Usually this price of the headset is usually only equipped with a long line to facilitate the use of the machine system. In the Z1000, SONY is very kindly equipped with a short-term line to facilitate direct push or bundled with the portable decoding earbuds out of the street.

It is worth noting that the wire is made of 7N (>99.99999%) oxygen-free copper (more than the latest flagship Z7, the wire of Z7 is not marked with purity, it is estimated that it is normal 4N (>99.99%) oxygen-free copper), two The lines are all 3.5mm gold-plated plugs, the wire is soft and feels good. The part that connects the earphone adopts 3.5mm plug plus screw mouth design.

The headband of the headphone itself is wrapped in leather material, and the earmuffs also use the same cortex. The touch is very soft and gently wraps around my head. There is a kind of comfortable comfort, but the shortcoming is that summer wear may be more boring. The earmuff shell is made of magnesium alloy material, and the frosted treatment is done. SONY letters are embedded in a circular mirror plastic plate. Inlaid gap control is very uniform, reflecting the Japanese manufacturers have always been good workmanship, the rest are made of plastic material, this is regrettable, if all are made of metal material, the texture must be better.

In addition, as mentioned earlier, the headset uses a 55mm liquid crystal diaphragm and a closed design. The closed design can isolate a part of the outside noise, and prevent the earphone sound leakage from affecting the surrounding people. However, compared to open headphones, closed design has the disadvantage of having a smaller sound field.

There are L/R marks on the outside of the head beam to distinguish between left and right. (L is white, R is red)

One notable detail is that Sony designed the wearer's user experience with full consideration. There is an angle between the earmuffs and the head-beam connection. When the headgear is worn, it is better able to bear stress, thus reducing the burden on the head. The cover also fits the ear better and increases the comfort of wearing.

The headset does not contain a wire weight of about 270g, not heavy, and is an average headset level. The earmuffs can completely wrap the ears and are comfortable to wear. Due to the closed design, the sound insulation is also very good. However, long-term wear (greater than two hours) will still be slightly chucked.

From the sound quality point of view, the choice of audio source iPhone SE, ipod touch4 + pha1, pc (ASUS XONAR Essence STX independent sound card commonly known as the tiger card) + 翡 珞 332s (original black 嗓 332s) desktop tube amp. Select these audio sources for testing. First, there are only a few devices on hand. The second is just to reflect the different people's use of the environment (mobile phone push, player + decoding amp machine, desktop amp system)

First of all, is the iPhone direct push: Z1000 is a listening style, straightforward sound, cold sound, less stained. Plug in the first feeling of the iPhone is very good. The vocals are more prominent and are slightly more dry. Although the amount of low frequency is small, the sound field is also small, but the texture is good, listening to pop music is not bad. However, due to the fact that the high frequencies are slightly dark and not very smooth, the performance of the music of the string music is general, combined with the low frequency and the small sound field, the performance of the symphony is also unsatisfactory.

Secondly, Touch4+pha1: The sound field is one lap larger than the iPhone. The sound is more delicate, the high frequency is smoother, and the volume and texture of the low frequency are improved. When listening to pop music, voices are more emotional. The string and symphony performance is also very good due to the improvement of high and low frequencies and the positioning of the sound field after opening.

In the end, it was Pc +332s: Since 332s is a tuber, the sound is warmer. After the arrival of the machine, the sound field was clearly released, reaching almost the same level as the open-air headset Beyer DT880. The vocals are more smooth and the atmosphere is better. The high frequency is slightly improved, and the amount and quality of low frequency are greatly improved. Therefore, listening to pop music is very appropriate, the vocals are prominent and smooth, the sound separation is good, the soundtrack is surrounded, and the overall atmosphere is very good, especially the performance of female voices. The string performance is very good due to excellent resolution and high frequency. Symphony due to headphone sound is still slightly cold, the amount of low frequency is not enough, and listening to the scene there is a big difference (when listening to headphones, symphony performance and the scene is similar to the Senhai HD600), but the sound of the degree of separation and positioning Still worthy of recognition.

Finally, due to the high sensitivity of the headphones, the computer power supply will not deal with bottom noise. If pc pushes Z1000 for 90 points, touch4+pha1 has 75 points and the phone has 45 points.

My test feeling is: Z1000 is now worth the price of 1999, headset workmanship and materials reflect the Japanese manufacturers have always been excellent standards, better than European and American brands work. Wearing and shape is also quite good. The sound quality is consistent SONY sound, sound delicate, transparent, high resolution, voice slightly prominent, the overall slightly cold. Suitable for female voices and strings. It's not bad for a cell phone to listen to pop music like that, and it doesn't sound bad. However, it is more suitable to listen to symphony or to buy Senhai hd600. If you want to further develop its strength, then you can get a better performance and adaptability by adding a portable decoding amp machine.
