Nichia sued Yiguang for patent infringement lawsuit

LED fascia Nikki Chemical (NICHIA) filed a lawsuit with the Banqiao District Court in Taiwan four years ago, accusing the Taiwanese company Everlight of allegedly infringing on the new model 089,036 of the Japanese brand in LED packaging . A few days ago, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Court ruled that Yiguang had won the first trial. The final judgment has been completed in this case, and Nichia can no longer continue appealing.

In the case of Yiguang, the LED products of the models 99-215 UWC/TR8 and 99-115 UWC/XXX/TR8 alleged by Nichia have been registered with the new model patent No. D104147 of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The case did not infringe on the Japanese patent of Japan.

Yiguang will not be compensated for damages of up to NT$80 million. Yiguang Chairman Ye Yufu said that Yiguang will not ask Nichia to give other compensation to Yiguang.

Ye Haofu further stressed that this is the first victory of Taiwan's LED factory and international manufacturers in patent litigation.
