ON Semiconductor Introduces Next-Generation Body Electronics Solutions

ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) launched three new products for the automotive terminal market at the 2010 Electronica 2010 in Germany for current and next-generation body electronics.

Automotive is one of ON Semiconductor's key application markets, with a broad lineup of rugged and innovative energy-efficient integrated devices that reduce emissions, save fuel, enhance lighting, security, connectivity and infotainment power systems. ON Semiconductor's devices offer different capabilities including power management, protection, processing, signal conditioning and control through AEC certification and production device approval procedures (PPAP).

The new NCV7321 is a comprehensive Local Interconnect Network (LIN) transceiver designed to interface between LIN protocol controllers and physical buses in low data rate in-vehicle network (IVN) applications. The NCV7321 offers excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and robust system-level electrostatic discharge (ESD) performance of up to 13 kV, eliminating the need for external ESD components and making it ideal for demanding environments in automotive applications.

Utilizing ON Semiconductor's innovative I3T technology, high-voltage and sensitive digital technologies can co-exist on the same chip. The NCV7321 is available in a high-density, space-saving SOIC-8 package. Typical applications include a variety of body electronics such as door locks, motorized mirrors and seat adjusters, as well as other features such as electronic steering locks and tire monitoring electronic control units ( ECU).

The NCV7321 is an excellent vehicle power saving target with a current consumption of only 10 μA in sleep mode. Other key features include thermal shutdown, fuzzy short-circuit protection, and 45 V load dump protection.

ON Semiconductor's new NCV7608 is an 8-way configurable low-end/high-end driver. The device is AECQ10X-12 (A version) certified and is available in a high density SOIC-28W package that operates from a junction temperature of -40 °C to +150 °C. With a wide input voltage range of 3.15 V to 5.25 V and an 8-channel fully independent output driver, the NCV7608 can be configured in any combination of high-end, low-end or half-bridge configurations, providing a flexible solution for designers who need to drive large loads. .

The device performs digital control of all output segments via an integrated standard serial peripheral interface, which also provides diagnostic fault information. In addition, four channels can be pulse width modulated (PWM) controlled by an external control input pin. The new device's typical on-resistance (RDSON) at 25 °C is only 1.2 Ω, which significantly extends battery life.

The fully-regulated NCV7608 also provides positive/negative transient protection, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection. Its integrated clamp circuit (in high-side and low-side operation modes) ensures over-temperature protection and under-voltage lockout.

In addition, ON Semiconductor also announced the development of the NCV786xx power ballast and dual LED driver product platform for advanced LED headlamp systems. This product platform was developed to match the system-level requirements of driving multiple strings of LEDs up to 60 V, maintaining color temperature with PWM dimming, and controlling average current, enabling designers to control high beam with a system-on-chip (SoC) device. Lights and low beam lights, daytime running lights, turn indicators and fog lights. The platform is capable of communicating with external microcontrollers, changing operating parameters, detecting LED shorts and providing advanced system diagnostics after power up.

This conference platform will be introduced at the conference paper "Energy-efficient system-level chip LED driver for automotive headlamps" at the Munich Electronics Show Automotive Forum. The platform's first product, the NCV78663, will be available in 2011.

Digital currency transactions allow users to convert existing digital currencies into other digital currencies. The entire transaction does not involve any legal tender. Because of the relatively loose regulation, the mainstream digital currency trading platform also opened this function.Digital Asset Exchange (DAE) is a platform for matching transactions between digital currencies, digital currencies and legal currencies. It is the main place for encrypting the circulation and price determination of digital currency transactions.

Compared with traditional stock exchanges, digital asset trading platform not only matches transactions, but also plays the role of market maker and investment bank. The role of the market maker in the trading platform can increase the liquidity of the market, and the trading platform can earn the transaction price difference. The role of the investment bank of the trading platform is to provide services such as issuance and underwriting of digital currency, from which the trading platform collects money fees, or collects deposits in the form of community voting of the trading platform.
