SAN JOSE, Calif., January 25, 2011 – Power Integrations, Inc. (Nasdaq: POWI), a leader in the high-voltage integrated circuit industry for energy efficient power conversion, today announced its popular LinkSwitch- The PH product line adds seven new LED driver ICs. Designed for industrial and commercial applications where high efficiency and system life are critical, the new device (LNK413-LNK419) is suitable for lighting applications from 3 W bulbs to 55 W fluorescent replacement lamps. With up to 88% efficiency, the new device features a PWM dimming single-stage controller with power factor correction (PFC) and accurate constant current (CC) power conversion. The integrated PFC and CC functions allow multiple drives to be connected in parallel at the same time, providing efficient drive for outdoor and street lights, as well as functional redundancy.
The LinkSwitch-PH device combines a PFC/CC controller, a 725 V MOSFET, and a MOSFET driver into a single package, which greatly simplifies circuit layout and design, eliminating parasitic components between the controller and the MOSFET. The new IC can eliminate up to 25 components used in traditional isolated flyback designs, achieving ultra-high reliability at low cost.
