The website of Sidewalk Labs shows that “future cities will combine forward-looking urban design and new digital technologies to create a people-centred community and create examples of sustainability, affordability, mobility and economic opportunities”.

Alibaba Cloud ET's video recognition algorithm enables the city's brain to perceive the trajectory of vehicles under complicated roads with an accuracy rate of over 99%. "If these videos are seen by the traffic policeman in three shifts, they need 150,000 traffic policemen. Through the algorithm, the city's brain can read these videos in a short period of time. It is clear how many vehicles go in which direction." Hua Xiansheng said.

Combining mobile maps, road coils recording the speed and number of vehicles running, buses, taxis and other operational data, the city’s brain can build algorithmic models in a virtual digital city, continuously iteratively optimized through machine learning, and calculated more “smart” The program, such as the intersection of traffic lights at each intersection set for the most efficient passage, which intersections should be prohibited from turning left, how to more reasonable scheduling of public transport vehicles and lines, road construction has a better choice and so on. It is reported that some sections of Xiaoshan District in Hangzhou have carried out smart tests to adjust traffic lights. The results show that the speed of vehicles has been increased by up to 11%.

In solving the traffic problem, the ultimate goal of the city's brain is to enable the data to help the city think and make decisions, and to create a smart city that can self-regulate and interact with humanity.
