Autumn of 2017 has arrived, and the harvest season is back. As a musician, I usually focus on writing at the end of the year, compiling songs I've worked on throughout the year and bringing them to life. My fourth album, "Black Album," is currently in production, along with my own EP, "Running Comics Trilogy." There are pressures and inspirations involved—playing music itself is an adventure filled with joy. Before the final product is ready, you never know what kind of song you will create. Every element along the way can influence the final outcome: it could be your mood, the weather, the environment, or even the equipment used in the process.
Over the years, I’ve become accustomed to both the front and backstage scenes. On stage, I like to express myself passionately; when creating, I prefer a calm and quiet space. Running music festivals and live performances across the country all year round is something I truly enjoy, thanks to the lively energy of those events. When I write songs, I prefer a cozy and independent setting that helps me stay focused.
Staying at home, listening to music, watching movies, playing games, or just relaxing are all joyful moments for me. I often talk to myself while at home, seeking resonance with my inner world. This is my most effective creative mode. I set up a simple yet practical music studio in my study, adding a lot of music equipment. Whenever I get inspired, I can record it immediately.
Sometimes, while recording or arranging music on a computer, I wonder how it would feel if the screen were wider. Some musicians prefer working on mobile devices, but I still love the pleasure of sitting in front of a large screen and controlling everything! If there's a big, slim TV that’s easy to place on a desk and connect to a PC, it would be fun and super cool! The experience of making music is definitely different!
So when I got this Hisense NU7700 55-inch smart TV, my first thought was that my little dream might finally come true!
Out of the box
Opening the box, the first thing I noticed was how thin it was—super thin!
The side is sharp and thin, measuring only 9mm thick. It's almost as thin as my Nubia Pro phone! This makes it easy to place on my desk. In recent years, TVs have evolved, getting larger and thinner. The progress of technology is endless.
Another highlight of the Hisense NU7700 is its borderless design. The top, left, and right borders are nearly invisible, giving a full-screen look from a distance. The pursuit of no borders and increased screen share is a popular aesthetic trend, offering great visual effects. Smartphones are striving to design better borderless models, and it seems the TV industry is not far behind.
The back of the TV is carefully designed. All the ports are covered with a panel, and there are no visible screws, making it look clean and elegant.
The frame and back are both silver, looking very delicate. With the same color bracket, the whole TV looks strong and high-end. At home, it's definitely worth being considered a high-value appliance.
The era of smart homes is here, and appliances are not only about functionality but also about ease of use, value, and personalized design. Electronic products need to be practical and also serve to enhance home aesthetics. Fashion, elegance, individuality, and beauty are all goals pursued by modern appliances. The Hisense NU7700 does a great job in this aspect!
Installing the Hisense NU7700 is very convenient. Placing it on the TV cabinet is stable. After connecting the power and doing some basic settings, it can connect to the home Wi-Fi and watch shows. Since I had learned that the built-in audio of the TV is powerful, I decided to test it by playing a movie first.
First, we watched the movie "Daddy Wrestling," which was a huge hit this year. From vocals to sound recordings, it's excellent. When the movie started, the action sounds and bass from Amir Khan's performance came through the NU7700's built-in speakers, clearly felt the impact of low-frequency waves. The bass is solid and deep, with strong dive, while maintaining clear mid and high frequencies without any harshness—this is quite different from the thin and pale voice of a typical TV. Such a slim body, yet such strong bass performance, really impressive!
The reason the NU7700 has such good sound quality is because it uses patented air sound field technology instead of traditional inverted-phase speakers. It should be noted that the bass performance of inverted-phase speakers is closely related to the size of the cabinet and the speaker. As smart TVs become thinner, the low-frequency intensity and depth of built-in audio are limited. Air sound field technology is an effective solution to this issue, allowing the built-in audio to reach 60Hz!
60Hz definitely belongs to the subwoofer category. Most TVs have a minimum frequency of over 100Hz, so they lack real bass. This is because past TV programs didn’t require high-quality audio. Even analog TVs had mono signals, mainly aimed at vocals and clarity. Digital TVs now offer stereo signals and rich content, many people watch movies through smart TVs. The audio quality of old TVs certainly can't meet these requirements. Many people choose to buy external audio equipment, but the NU7700 comes with powerful built-in audio, including two passive radiators, delivering strong and layered bass performance.
Then, for the war film "Hacksaw Ridge," I listened to the rumbling sound of the bombers on the battlefield. The bass performance was really shocking and immersive, comparable to an external home theater subwoofer, stronger than most common brand Bluetooth speakers, and significantly better than other TVs' built-in sound systems.
In addition to air sound field technology, the NU7700 also features Waves sound effect, which has won Grammy Sound Technology Gold. Waves is familiar to professional musicians—it specializes in digital audio effects plug-ins and has world-class audio processing technology. The Waves plug-in package is a favorite among musicians and mixers worldwide. Whether it's compression, reverb, delay, or balance, these common effects, or multi-segment integrated effects for mastering, are all industry-leading.
The NU7700 includes a 9-band EQ equalizer from Waves, providing a frequency adjustment range from 60Hz to 16000Hz. For commonly used 9 frequencies, users can adjust gain via the remote control, modifying the overall sound tone. This feature is powerful, allowing users—especially those who are into sound—to fine-tune their audio experience.
If you're not interested in learning about frequency concepts, the TV also offers pre-set effects: auto, movie, music, sports, news, DTS sound effects, allowing quick switching based on needs. Additionally, you can quickly adjust several commonly used sound styles through the Audio Enhancement tab: super bass, vocal enhancement, clear treble, 3D sound, which is very convenient.
This kind of balanced sound adjustment is something we often use on computers or mobile phones, but it's rare on TVs. This shows that Hisense pays great attention to the sound quality of this TV, and I think this is also an integral part of the future of smart TV functionality.
The NU7700 also supports DTS and Dolby audio decoding. For movie viewing, it delivers sufficient HIFI quality. With surround sound and powerful bass, when you watch a movie at a high volume, you feel immersed—especially during horror scenes at home, it's really intense. You might even scare yourself, haha.
In the Music Studio
Feeling the sound performance of the NU7700, I connected it to my PC via HDMI, using it as a display output device—effectively a giant monitor.
This massive screen makes the music production interface more visually appealing and cool!
I opened Fruityloops software, and each operating area was very clear. Playing music under this screen feels amazing, haha.
For example, I clicked on a drum sample for a rap song. Because the image is enlarged, it's easier to work with.
In addition to being a display device, the NU7700 also comes with speakers, which can serve as a great complement to my music post-production monitoring setup! Especially for hip-hop, which is currently very popular, it pays special attention to bass, and this TV is perfect for testing auditory feelings. I switched the audio playback device to the TV in the system and listened to the drum I just made—the kick drum became much more powerful!
Then in CUBASE software, I recorded a guitar. The wide screen and high definition made the operation comfortable.
Let’s talk about my different style of song: “I Want to Be Different.†This song is more cheerful, and the bass isn’t too prominent, but through the NU7700’s speakers, we can still hear the bass clearly, making the whole song feel complete. Compared to my professional monitor speakers, the TV’s built-in sound provides deeper low-frequency performance, which sounds very enjoyable. At the same time, the vocal part remains clear and distinct—and we can use Waves sound effects to adjust it as needed.
For friends who like to listen to music, try adjusting the Waves spectrum to increase the bass effect, raise the treble slightly, and weaken the mid-range a bit. This can often give a more three-dimensional and clearer sound experience.
Adding this big guy, my family music studio has progressed from a narrow-border big screen to a powerful bass monitor. I feel that the new song I’m about to finish will be even cooler, hahaha!
At home, I've been writing songs for a long time. One day, a few friends came over to play games. The sound effect of the NU7700 accompanied the visuals of “NBA 2K17,†making it a super feast.~~~~
Let's take a look at the video together. The TV has a good appearance. The video source uses iQiyi and China TV TV resources, which are very rich. It can also install third-party applications. I tried installing the CIBN app and opened it. The newly released drama "White Night" played smoothly, and the atmosphere was clear and exciting!

This TV uses Hisense's ULED super-quality technology, with a high color gamut. From resolution, color, and brightness, it's remarkable. The screen colors are bright and comfortable. Through the remote control, you can further fine-tune the screen parameters and adjust it to your preferred style.
In the settings, there is a Motion Flow motion picture compensation switch. This technology is used to smooth fast-moving scenes, suitable for watching sports programs like ball games, track and field, racing, etc., making the naked eye see the interpolated frames naturally.
The NU7700 also has an interesting feature: intelligent sensing, automatic screen brightness adjustment—similar to the auto-brightness function on smartphones. It automatically adjusts the TV's brightness according to the lighting conditions, which not only saves power but also protects your eyes. When the room is dark, the screen brightness automatically reduces to minimize eye strain.
Use summary
After using it for a while, the Hisense NU7700 makes me feel very good. Many small details are very user-friendly, and the voice control on the remote is convenient. Smart TVs are becoming more and more versatile. They’re not just for watching TV anymore. Higher configuration, better picture quality, and more features make us think more about what a TV can do. The NU7700 offers a beautiful appearance and better sound quality, making it a frequent presence in my home: playing music in the morning, broadcasting variety shows, watching movies with family and friends in the afternoon, and turning into a giant-screen display for gaming in the evening. It's a rewarding experience. It's not free, though!
