Fall 2017 has arrived, and the harvest season is back. As a musician, I’ve always found it meaningful to focus on writing at the end of the year. I tend to compile songs that have been in my mind for a whole year and bring them to life. My fourth album, "Black Album," and my own EP, "Running Comics Trilogy," are both in the middle of production. There's pressure, but also motivation—making music is an adventure filled with joy. Before the final product is ready, you never know what kind of song you’ll end up creating. Every element involved in the process, from mood to weather, environment, or even the equipment used, can influence the final sound. Music is unpredictable, and that’s what makes it exciting.

Over the years, I've become familiar with both the stage and the studio. On stage, I like to express myself with passion, while in the studio, I prefer a calm and focused environment. Touring festivals and live performances across the country throughout the year keeps me connected to the energy of the crowd. When I write songs, I enjoy being in a quiet and independent space where I can truly immerse myself in the creative process.

Staying at home, listening to music, watching movies, playing games, or just relaxing are some of my favorite moments. I often talk to myself while at home, seeking emotional resonance in my own small world. This is my most effective creative mode. I designed my own study room as a simple yet functional music studio, equipped with a lot of music gear. Whenever inspiration hits, I can immediately record it.

Sometimes, while recording or arranging music on a computer, I wonder what it would be like if the screen were wider. Some musicians prefer working on mobile devices, but I still love the satisfaction of sitting in front of a big screen and controlling everything. If there was a TV that was large enough, slim, and lightweight, it could easily sit on my workbench and connect to my PC. That would be fun and super cool! The feeling of making music is completely different.
So when I got this Hisense NU7700 55-inch smart TV, the first thought was that my little dream might finally come true!
Out of the Box
Opening the box, the first thing I noticed was how thin it was—extremely thin!

The side is sharp and thin, measuring only 9mm thick. It's almost as thin as my Nubia Pro phone! This made it easy to place on my desk. In recent years, TVs have been getting larger and thinner, and the development of technology is endless.

Another highlight of the Hisense NU7700 is its borderless design. The top, left, and right borders are extremely narrow, almost invisible. From a distance, it looks like a full-screen display. The pursuit of a seamless visual experience is a growing trend, and it definitely delivers a powerful visual impact. Smartphones are striving to achieve better borderless designs, and it seems that the TV industry isn’t far behind.

The back of the TV is well-designed, with all the I/O ports covered by a panel and no visible screws, giving it a clean and minimal look.

The front and back of the TV are both silver, looking very delicate. With the same color bracket, the overall appearance is strong and elegant. At home, it's definitely worth having as a high-end appliance.

The era of smart homes is here, and appliances are not only becoming more functional but also more stylish and personalized. Electronic products need to be practical, but they also serve to enhance the quality of home life. Beauty, elegance, individuality, and aesthetics are all goals pursued by modern appliances. The Hisense NU7700 does a great job in this regard.

The Hisense NU7700’s bracket base is very convenient to install, and placing it on the TV cabinet is stable. After connecting the power and doing some simple settings, it can connect to the home Wi-Fi to watch shows. Since I had learned that the TV’s built-in audio is powerful, I decided to test it by playing a movie.

First, I played the movie “Daddy Wrestling,†which is a highly popular film this year. The movie has excellent vocals and sound effects. When the action sounds of the wrestling scenes and the bass of Amir Khan came out of the Hisense NU7700’s built-in speakers, the low-frequency impact was clearly felt. The bass is solid and deep, with strong dive, while also bringing out the details of the mid-high frequencies without any harshness. This is very different from the thin and weak sound of typical TVs. Even though it’s ultra-thin, the bass performance is impressive!

The reason the Hisense NU7700 has such good sound quality is because it uses patented air sound field technology instead of traditional inverted-phase speaker boxes. It should be noted that the bass performance of inverted-phase speakers is closely related to the size of the cabinet and the speaker. As smart TVs become thinner, the bass strength and depth of the built-in speakers are limited. Air sound field technology is an effective solution to this problem, allowing the built-in audio to reach 60Hz!

For televisions, 60Hz definitely belongs to the subwoofer category. Most TVs have a frequency limit of over 100Hz, so there is almost no bass in human hearing. This is because past TV programs didn't require high-quality audio. Analog TVs were mono, mainly focusing on vocals, allowing the audience to hear clearly. The main purpose of the audio was to emphasize the midrange, and low frequencies weren’t considered. Now, digital TVs have stereo signals and rich content. Many people watch movies through smart TVs, and the sound quality of past TV speakers can no longer meet the requirements. Many people choose to buy separate audio equipment, but the Hisense NU7700 comes with powerful built-in audio, including two passive radiators, delivering a strong and layered bass performance.

Then I watched the war film “Hacksaw Ridge†and listened to the rumbling sounds of the bombers on the battlefield. The bass performance was really impressive, giving a realistic and immersive feeling, comparable to a regular brand's external subwoofer. It’s stronger than the bass of most common Bluetooth speakers and much better than other TVs’ built-in sound.

In addition to the air sound field technology, the Hisense NU7700 also features Waves sound effect technology, which won a Grammy Sound Technology Gold Award. For professional musicians, Waves is no stranger—it specializes in digital audio effects and has world-class audio processing technology. The Waves plug-in package is a favorite among musicians and mixers worldwide. Whether it's compression, reverb, delay, or balance, these common effects, or multi-band integrated mastering effects, are all industry-leading.

The NU7700 is equipped with a 9-band EQ equalizer from Waves, providing a frequency adjustment range from 60Hz to 16000Hz. For commonly used 9 frequencies, the gain can be adjusted using the remote control, allowing users to modify the tone and flavor of the overall sound. This feature is very powerful, especially for those who have a personal interest in sound, enabling fine-tuned audio adjustments.

If you don’t want to get into the concept of frequency and find it too complicated, this TV also provides pre-made sound effects: auto, movie, music, sports, news, DTS, etc. You can quickly switch between them based on your needs. Additionally, you can adjust several of the most commonly used sound styles via the Audio Enhancement tab: super bass, vocal enhancement, clear treble, 3D sound, and it's very convenient.

Such a balanced sound adjustment function is something I use a lot on music playback software on my computers or phones, but it's rare on TVs. This shows that Hisense pays great attention to the sound quality of this TV, and I believe this is an integral part of the future of smart TV functionality.
The NU7700 also supports both DTS and Dolby audio decoding. For movie viewing, the NU7700 delivers sufficient HIFI. With surround sound and powerful bass, when you're watching a movie at a high volume, you feel fully immersed. Watching horror films at home becomes particularly intense—be careful not to scare yourself, haha.
In the Music Studio
Feeling the sound performance of the NU7700, I connected it to my PC via HDMI, using it as a display output device. The huge screen made the music-making interface more visually appealing and cool.
This large screen makes the music production interface more beautiful and cool!

I opened Fruityloops software, and each operating area was very clear. Playing music under this screen feels like a treat.
For example, I used the mouse to click on a drum for a rap song. Because the image was enlarged, it wasn’t so difficult.

In addition to being a display device, the NU7700 also comes with speakers, which can serve as a great complement to my music post-production monitoring equipment. Especially for hip-hop music, which is currently very popular, it pays special attention to bass. Using this TV to test the auditory experience is just right. I switched the audio playback device to the TV in the system and listened to the drum we just created. The kick drum became more powerful!
Then in CUBASE, I recorded a guitar. Because of the wide screen and high definition, it was comfortable to operate.

Let’s talk about my different style of song: “I Want to Be Different.†This song is more cheerful, and although the bass isn’t the strongest, the NU7700’s speakers still let us hear the bass clearly, making the entire song more complete. Compared to my professional monitor speakers, the TV’s own sound provides a deeper low-frequency performance, which sounds very enjoyable. At the same time, the vocal part remains clear and easy to understand—and we can use Waves sound effects to adjust it as needed.
For friends who enjoy listening to music, you can try adjusting the spectrum of Waves to increase the bass effect, while raising the treble and slightly weakening the mid-range, thus achieving a more three-dimensional and clearer sound.
Adding this big guy, my family music studio has progressed from a narrow-border big screen to a strong bass monitor. It feels like the new song I’m finishing will be even cooler, haha!

At home, I’ve been writing songs for a long time. I was inevitably tired. A few friends came over to play games, and the sound effect of the NU7700 accompanied the picture of “NBA 2K17â€â€”it was a real feast.

Let’s take a look at the video together. The TV has a good appearance. The film source uses iQiyi and China TV TV resources, which are very rich. It can also install third-party applications. I tried installing the CIBN app and opened it. The recently emerged drama “White Night†plays smoothly, and the atmosphere is particularly clear and exciting!

It's a pleasure to share my recent performance video with everyone through the NU7700. It's a joy to watch my own performance on TV and listen to my own singing voice!

This TV uses Hisense’s ULED super-quality technology, with a high color gamut, remarkable in terms of definition, color, and brightness. The screen color is bright and comfortable to look at. And through the remote control, you can further fine-tune the screen parameters to suit your preferred style.
In the settings, there is a Motion Flow motion picture compensation switch. This technology is used to smooth fast-moving scenes, suitable for watching sports programs like ball games, track and field, racing, etc., making the naked eye see the interpolated frames naturally.

The NU7700 also has an interesting feature: intelligent sensing, automatic screen brightness adjustment—much like the smartphone’s automatic screen brightness function. It automatically adjusts the TV’s brightness according to the lighting conditions. This feature not only saves power but also protects the eyes: when the room is dark, the screen brightness is reduced to minimize eye strain.

Use summary
After using it for a while, the Hisense NU7700 has made me feel very good. Many small functions are very user-friendly, and the voice control on the remote is convenient. Smart TVs are now more playable than ever. They are definitely more than just for watching TV shows. Higher configuration, better picture quality, and more space make us think more about what a TV can do. The NU7700 offers a more beautiful appearance and better sound quality, making it a frequent presence in my home: playing music in the morning, broadcasting variety shows, watching movies with family and friends in the afternoon, and transforming into a giant-screen display in the evening for gaming. It has become my window to music. It's a rewarding experience, though not free!

The rapid development of smart devices is taking a long time.
In this era of the Internet, technology and art have always been inseparable. How to more accurately use electronic products in our hands, let them serve our creativity, or inspire our ideas instead of mindlessly indulging in smart machines—this is a question every artist and everyone should think about.
How to produce a product that meets the public's fresh demands, reflects the player's personality, and can be seen in the details—is the direction every manufacturer should pursue.
Of course, never ignore value! It is an eternal factor that attracts purchasing power. Haha!
