Sodium-based bentonite waterproof blanket anti-static water pressure tester

Experiment Method

1. At the edge of the bentonite waterproof blanket, mark a circular area with a diameter matching that of the permeable stone used in the South Type 55 permeation instrument. Use a dropper to apply a small amount of water around the marked circle.

Then cut the sample along the circular arc.

2. Place the permeable stone at the bottom of the South 55 type permeation instrument, then add a layer of quartz sand on top of it. Position the sample on the quartz sand and fill the space around the sample with bentonite powder until it reaches the same height as the sample. Cover the sample with fine sand, place another permeable stone and a top cover, tighten the nut, and open the pressure valve to apply controlled water pressure to the system.

3. Pressure Setting: After turning on the device, press the “Back” button to access the settings. Use the “Shift” button to navigate, and use the “+” and “–” keys to adjust the pressure value. Press “Back” again to save the settings. Once the lower limit is set, press the set key to exit. After one hour, the lower limit should rise to 0.1 MPa.

4. Time Clear: To reset the timer, keep pressing the “–” key without releasing it. The time value will appear, and after 10 seconds, the timer will reset to zero. Be careful not to accidentally press the “!” key during this process.

5. Time Review: Press the “–” key to switch between hours, minutes, and seconds. After 30 seconds, the display will return to the pressure reading.

6. Zero Adjustment: If the device does not return to zero after starting, press the zero-setting button once. Do not press the clear button when there is active pressure; instead, release the pressure first before resetting to zero.

Once all the air has been removed from the permeator through the exhaust pipe, immediately close the exhaust valve.

7. Keep the sample under pressure for 30 minutes to allow full expansion. Then, every hour, increase the pressure by 0.1 MPa. Continue this process until the desired pressure level is reached. If no water flows out from the water outlet during the test, the sample is considered to have passed the hydrostatic pressure resistance test. Otherwise, it is deemed不合格 (unqualified).

8. Calculate the results based on relevant industry standards.

After completing the experiment, open the exhaust and drain valves, clean the surface of the equipment, and dry the testing chamber and frame. Apply anti-rust grease to protect the components. If the equipment will not be used for an extended period, open the drain valve located on the lower right side of the main unit to completely drain the internal water and prevent damage from freezing.
