Radionic Hi-Tech, Inc., a lighting manufacturer based in Chicago, Illinois, USA, has become the first manufacturer of LED cabinet lighting and has been certified by Lighting FactsTM.
The US Department of Energy has confirmed to LEDs Magazine that Radionic is the first company to receive Lighting FactsTM certification in this product category, and currently more than 20 products are eligible for the certification. The Solid-State Lighting Quality Advocates product certification was initiated by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and recognized by major retailers, including The Home Depot and WW Grainger, to ensure and improve The quality of LED lighting products.
The SSL Quality Advocates program shows that LED luminaire manufacturers are committed to product testing of lighting and reporting product performance tests in accordance with industry standards. For buyers, designers and energy efficiency programs for lighting products, Lighting FactsTM product certification provides the information necessary to assess product quality and identify the best choice for the product.

Radionic's CEO, Jeffrey Winton, said the lighting industry has yet to unveil an inexpensive and high-quality LED cabinet lighting fixture. Radionic's warm white ZX series is the first to receive Lighting FactsTM certification, which requires a separate laboratory inspection of the product.
According to Radionic, the ZX series delivers the same amount of light compared to typical cabinet fluorescent fixtures, but consumes almost half of its energy. The company also said that the ZX series has an innovative design and special pricing to meet the average demand of American consumers. Currently ZX513 and ZX515 products have obtained US patent application and trademark registration.
