Texas Instruments (TI) launched two newest embedded video camera and video communication development kits to meet the growing demand for advanced video communication at a reasonable cost. Each kit can be used in its own unique application area. Both embedded video development kits provide interactive high-definition video communication for improved image quality and intelligent video encoding. In addition, the above-mentioned embedded development kit can also reduce the encoding bit rate by 5 times, and improve the video quality and network bandwidth through the Smart Codec Technology on TI's latest DaVinci video processor TMS320DM368.

The embedded USB camera development kit DM368EUCDK is designed to meet the needs of video camera applications that already have a video decoding host processor, such as set-top boxes, digital signage, and information stations. The kit integrates high-definition (HD) H.264 encoding at 30 frames per second at 1080p for excellent video quality.

The embedded communication development kit DM368ECDK is ideal for dual-channel video communication (encoding and decoding) that supports 30 fps 720p, including applications such as video conferencing, web cameras, video blogs, and interactive signage.

The small size of the kit enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to easily embed video-capable cameras directly into terminal products, improving the interactivity and convenience of video communications. Through TI ’s fifth-generation on-chip image signal processor (DSP), various features can achieve higher image quality at extremely low bit rates, including noise filtering, video stabilization, face detection, automatic white balance, and automatic exposure And edge enhancement. The product has a high degree of integration, a small form factor, and a low price advantage, which can achieve a large number of innovations, such as allowing TV OEMs to embed these kits in terminal products to achieve high-definition video communication for consumers. In addition, intelligent codec technology can also achieve high-definition video communication for homes through standard Internet access.
