iPhone X is also selling hot in the Korean market for 3 minutes

Apple's iPhone X has begun selling at major competitors like Samsung and LG in South Korea. Recently, SK Telecom, the country’s largest telecom provider, confirmed that within just three minutes of the sale, all available units of the iPhone X were sold out. This is a significant contrast to the iPhone 7, which sold out its entire first batch a year earlier, but took 20 minutes to do so. According to a spokesperson from SK Telecom, while the inventory of the iPhone X was less than half that of the iPhone 8, the silver model of the iPhone X sold out in under a minute. This shows strong consumer demand despite the limited supply. Industry analysts estimate that the first batch of around 150,000 iPhone X units was allocated to the Korean market. They also noted that the initial sales of the iPhone 8 last year reached 60% to 70% of the previous year's numbers, but were somewhat impacted by the release of the iPhone X. Interestingly, even though South Korea is the home turf of Samsung and LG, the public's interest in the iPhone X remains very high. Despite the fact that the price of the iPhone X in South Korea is significantly higher than in the U.S., consumers are still eager to buy it. For example, the 64GB version of the iPhone X is priced at approximately $1,237 (about RMB 8,200) in South Korea, compared to $999 (around RMB 6,617) in the United States. This price difference hasn't deterred buyers, highlighting the device's appeal in the region.
