MOUSER takes the lead in stocking STMicroelectronics' STM32 LoRaWAN Discovery Board

February 24, 2017 – The world's latest authorized distribution of semiconductors and electronic components, Mouser Electronics, is the first to ship STMicroelectronics (ST)'s STM32 LoRaWANTM Discovery Board. The new Discovery Kit is a platform that can be used with the Arduino-compatible I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 STM32 LoRaTM expansion board ordered from MOUSERS to understand and evaluate solutions based on LoRa and FSK/OOK radio frequency (RF) communications.

The ST STM32 LoRaWAN Discovery Kit, which is exclusively stocked by MOUSER, is based on the all-in-one open Murata Type ABZ module and supports low-power wide area network (LPWAN) and LoRaWAN remote wireless protocols. The Type ABZ module contains an STM32L072 ARM® Cortex®? M0+ microcontroller with 192 KB of flash, 20 KB of RAM and 6 KB of EEPROM. The STM32L0 ultra-low power microcontroller features a low power design for battery-powered applications and energy harvesting applications.

ST's I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 STM32 LoRa expansion board includes a LoRaWAN module based on the STM32L052 microcontroller, an SMA connector, a 50Ω antenna and several connectors compatible with the Arduino Uno R3 board. In addition, this expansion board also contains three ST environmental sensors: LSM303AGR accelerometer and magnetometer, HTS221 relative humidity and temperature sensor and LPS22HB pressure sensor. Both the LoRaWAN Discovery Board and the NUCLEO board come with LoRaWAN Class A certified I-CUBE-LRWAN embedded software, enabling designers to set up complete LoRaWAN nodes.
