What is the working principle of the thyristor?

(1) When a forward voltage is applied between the anode and the cathode of the thyristor, and a forward voltage is also applied between the gate and the anode, the thyristor is turned on.

(2) After the thyristor is turned on, the control pole is turned off, the thyristor continues to conduct, and the control pole loses control.

(3) In order to change the thyristor from conduction to blocking, the anode power supply must be cut off, or a reverse voltage should be applied between the anode and the cathode, or the anode current should be reduced below the holding current In .
