Lattice Semiconductor and Mikroprojekt launch advanced system development platform for network edge applications

Portland, Oregon, USA — November 2, 2015 — Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC), a leading provider of customized smart interconnect solutions, today announced the launch of ECP5TM FPGA-based FPGAs with Mikroprojekt A new development platform for accelerating system design for network edge applications in communications and industrial applications, including HetNet small cells, industrial IoT gateways and IP camera applications. Mikroprojekt's Kondor AX development platform uses Lattice's low-power, small-size ECP5 FPGA, which provides flexible interface interconnects and high-performance DSP for image filtering and data analysis. The board also comes with a stand-alone general purpose CPU that supports the Linux operating system for system control.

Lattice Semiconductor and Mikroprojekt launch advanced system development platform for network edge applications

• Kondor AX development platform uses Lattice's low-power, small-size ECP5 FPGA for programmable interconnect and computational acceleration

• Rich external interfaces and support for the Linux operating system enable the platform to help with rapid application design, including small cells, IP cameras and IoT gateways

Deepak Boppana, Director of Product Marketing at Lattice Semiconductor, said: "From the HetNet small cell, micro server and millimeter wave backhaul applications in the communications field to industrial IP video surveillance cameras, HMI displays and IoT gateway applications, the market is on the edge of the network. The demand for smart interconnect and computing solutions is growing. System designers of these applications often face tough challenges in power, size and cost. The Kondor AX development platform uses Lattice's low-power, small-size ECP5 FPGAs help engineers easily implement programmable interconnect and computational acceleration for these applications."

The ECP5 FPGA supports a variety of commonly used interface standards including CPRI, JESD204B and PCI Express. To allow engineers to connect the platform to the network, display, and other peripherals, the platform also features multiple standard interfaces including HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB OTG, FMC, SFP, LVDS, and GPIO. At the same time, the development platform also supports Linux-based operating systems, which can use a large number of applications and a rich software library.

Damir Jezic, General Manager of Mikroprojekt, said: "We are pleased to work with Lattice to launch an advanced development platform to meet the interconnection needs of emerging applications such as HetNet and the Internet of Things. The stable and reliable Lattice ECP5 FPGA and numerous With external interface support, the Kondor AX development platform will help our customers accelerate the design of network edge systems."

You can order the Kondor AX development platform from the Mikroprojekt website.

Small Cells Americas will be held in Dallas, USA from November 3rd to 4th. Welcome to the Lattice #705 booth to watch live demonstrations of small cell and millimeter wave backhaul solutions.
